A healthy body with Grapefruit: a grapefruit diet



Grapefruit can provide you with a very healthy diet, I call it the "grapefruit diet". It 's a very good source of vitamin C. There are some studies which shows that grapefruit helps lower cholesterol.

Grapefruit is a good source of pectin fiber. Pectin acts as stabilizer in cosmetic products. Pectin is also used in wound healing preparations and specialty medical adhesives, such as colostomy devices. In medicine, pectin increases viscosity and volume of stool so that it is used against constipation and diarrhea.

The pink and red hues contain the beneficial antioxidant so called lycopene. This antioxidant can be found in tomatoes and other red fruits also. Lycopene is the most powerful carotenoid quencher of singlet oxygen, being 100 times more efficient in the singlet-oxygen quenching action than Vitamin E.
